Friday 9th July
It was time to set sale for Calais where I met up with Biggles for an over-nighter in Belgium before biking on to The Black Forest, meeting up with the Italian mob.
It was good to get off the main drag, take some refreshment at a café by the river at Huy, then some N roads; lovely twisties for an hour, a warm welcome and plenty of beer - cant be bad!

Saturday 10th
So, on to Germany via Luxenbourg and the Route de Echternach and along the pictuesque Moselle valley.
Lost? Who me?......(no, pure pictorial licence).......We found the river, didn't we?
A very hot two hundred and forty miles, but very worth it.
The first two bikes here.......................But soon, we were 'Mobbed'.
Sunday 9th
'Mad Dogs and Englishmen'. Well, it was mad ladies and Englishmen walking in the midday sun and boy, was it hot?
But have no fear! A cool beer at the Mosquito Bar by the Rhine did the trick...........
........and Biggles talked to the animals....
........Wil chats up the waitress.............and the rest of us admire the sculptures!

A walk by the Rhine.....................................powerboats.............

Monday 12th July - Das Boat
A ride out in the morning followed by a trip with the river police.
Lukas discovered a nasty ripple on a bend in the road........
We checked over Lukas and Thomas checked out the bike and all was ok.
No Phil, you can't take it home as a trophy!
Apart from that bend, and a very gravelly track which Thomas found for us; much to his pleasure, we enjoyed the roads.......
,,,,,,and continued on to our lunch stop.

Thomas and Dieter arranged for an afternoon on a Police boat based at Karlsruhe harbour on the Rhine:
